CareRite Celebrates Connection and Creativity throughout their 13th Annual Art for Life Campaign
Now in its thirteenth year, the Art for Life campaign runs annually throughout the months of July and August, culminating in community-level showcases of resident works. From painting to pottery, to sketches and sculpture, residents have the opportunity to showcase their inner creativity and artistic expression, whether new to creative arts or a seasoned enthusiast.
This year’s theme, “Creative Connections: Where Art Brings Us Together,” focused on themes of creating community, through imagination, expression, and joy.
“The Art for Life program here at CareRite is so very special,” started Bonnie Nogin, Director of Community Affairs. “Creative Arts Therapy and our Annual Art for Life program empowers our residents to lean into their artistic side, and express what makes them who they are, as displayed through incredible pieces of self-pride.”
Network-wide, community art classes are also held throughout the month for all to join in on, from painting canvas, structured step-by-step sketch classes, or free expression classes.
Along with community art class offerings, local community members, families, and loved ones are invited to view, admire, and vote upon the amazing pieces created by our patients and residents; winning submissions from each community receive not only bragging rights, but also a coveted feature in the upcoming CareRite Centers calendar, highlighting each winning resident’s artwork.
The winners are awarded and celebrated at Art for Life receptions network-wide, showcases dedicated to recognizing all participants and winners of the annual program.
Flexing the creative muscles, along with gaining physical and mental strength, is an important pillar of the CareRite network. Understanding that modes of expression are proven in helping to empower patients and residents, this annual program is so special in highlighting the inner creativity of our patients and residents, and showcasing how their artwork shares who they are, and what brings them joy.
